Travel Conditions

Main Conditions: With regard to the purchase of air tickets, Shamal Travels is a travel agent acting as intermediary between you and the airline. Please read the conditions of purchase below :

  • Ticket purchased must meet all condition set out by Airlines.
  • Please note that all bookings are subject to fluctuations based on availability and currency. This booking under exceptional circumstances may be subject to fluctuations and change. We recommend you make contact with Shamal Travels promptly after your booking to ensure you secure your tickets at the prevailing rates. Until booking is ticketed fluctuations will remain possible.
  • VISA and Entry Requirements conditions are to be fulfilled by travellers accordingly. If you need assistance, please feel free to contact one of our travel consultants for assistance. Passenger(s) assumes sole responsibility to independently confirm all documentation requirements for all Passport, visa, vaccination, accommodation letter, hotel booking, compulsory insurance, compulsory proof of funds, letter of invitation or other entry and/or travel requirements of each destination. We recommend the Passenger(s) consult with the appropriate domestic and foreign governmental agencies for the current document requirements.
  • Your passport must be valid, in an acceptable condition and have at least 6 months validity. It is not the responsibility of Shamal Travels to vet and check the state of each passenger’s passport.
  • If a scan copy of passport main information page or written name (through email) is not submitted for booking. Shamal Travels cannot be held liable for any mistake in name made at ticketing time.
  • You agree to submit your personal information to Shamal Travels with this booking. Your email address will be added to our email newsletter for future emailing. Unsubscribe anytime you want.
  • You commit to completing the payment for this booking accordingly and within the time frame. Shamal Travels holds reservations/bookings until “Time Limit” agreed. If payment is not received by Shamal Travels on or before the “Time Limit”, reservations are automatically cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel your tickets prior or during travel in case full amount if not settled with Shamal Travels according to agreed ‘time frame’. 
  • Change/Abuse/Illegal Use of this document leading to additional cost to Shamal Travels must be paid by customers. We reserve the right to prosecute any user who voluntary uses this documents to cause harm in any manner to Shamal Travels Ltd, its employees or a third party.
  • Passenger is required to immediately review all aspects of their booking. Passenger names, mailing address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, pricing, airfare, arrival/departure airports, accommodations, and organized activities on your booking receipt. Please notify us immediately if any omissions and/or corrections are needed regarding the booking details.
  • Passenger(s) voluntarily assumes full & sole responsibility for any and all risks and/or costs involved with failure to report such errors and/or omissions.
  • Modification of passenger names, dates, times, routings, or departure/arrival airports are at the sole discretion of the airline and, if permitted, will likely be subject to penalties and fees.  Passenger is responsible for any such fees.
  • Each airline has its own policy regarding luggage.  We recommend that you check ahead of time for any weight restrictions and additional charges relating to checked baggage. You will be responsible for paying to the airline any additional charges for checked or overweight baggage. Shamal Travels cannot be held liable for any such additional costs.
  • Special requests like meals, assistance, wheelchair, unaccompanied minors, and medical conditions have to be notified to Shamal Travels well in advance. These items are provided by airlines and maybe subject to additional charge. In case airline fails to provide pre-booked special requests; Shamal Travels cannot be held liable for same.
  • All rerouting, cancellations, modifications, changes or no-shows are subject to penalties imposed by airlines and are subjective to the tickets purchased and their specific rules. Extra costs and fees may be charged by Shamal Travels to process and modify tickets.
  • Promotional/Sales and specific class tickets once sold cannot be refunded. For refund policies please enquire directly with your travel consultant at Shamal Travels. We reserve the right to refuse refund for any unused tickets. All tickets with the possibility of a refund will carry a minimum charge of Mur 2000 processing fee per passenger. Time-frame for a refund will vary from 45-90 Days. Refunds can only be done through wire transfers or cheque and not in cash.
  • Flights changes, postponement, time changes, terminal and gate changes, cancellations, disruptions, technical or non-technical issues and any other items not within the control of Shamal Travels can arise. As your travel agent we are here to assist you but we cannot be held liable for any items not within our control.
  • Travel Insurance is Strongly Recommended. As your travel agent, we have a professional responsibility to recommend the purchase of travel protection to protect you, your family and your vacation. Please enquire directly with one of our travel consultants for a quote and issuance of travel insurance.

[Purchase of Air Tickets]

Without limitation, Passenger(s) assume the risk of, and agree that Shamal Travels is not liable for any damages arising from or related to any act of God or public enemies, arrest, restraints of any government or rulers of people, piracy, war, revolution, extortion, terrorist activity, threatened or actual rebellion, political upheaval, civil unrest, riots, fire, lockouts, explosion, collision, weather conditions, dangers incident to the sea, mechanical or construction failures or difficulties, diseases, local laws, abnormal conditions or developments, closure of airports/seaports/hotels/train stations, carrier or supplier logistical problems, computer problems stranding, food or water poisoning, illness, grounding, perils of the sea, rivers, canals, locks or other waters, perils of navigation of any kind, theft, accident to or from machinery, boilers, or latent defects even though existing at commencement of the trip, desertion or revolt of crew, or lost/damaged/delayed luggage.

Client's responsibility
It is the responsibility of the passenger to have his personal documents, including but not limited to visa, passport, vaccination, authorization letters for minors, insurance updated before travel
For bookings, names should be provided as per passport. A name change is not allowed by the airlines.

Processing of visa applications
The Company facilitates the visa application process and acts as a facilitator between the client and the embassy. The Company offers no guarantee that the visa application will be successful. The Company shall not be held liable for any prejudice suffered by the client as a result of the visa application being turned down for whatever reason and/or late on delivery.
