Meet our representative upon arrival in Colombo. Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, is a bustling city and a hopping-off point for beaches in the island nation’s south. It has a long history as a port on ancient east-west trade routes, ruled successively by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. That heritage is reflected in its spicy cuisine as well as its architecture, mixing colonial buildings with high-rises and shopping malls. Overnight in Colombo.
After breakfast proceed to Giritale – A small town with picturesque landscapes and a beautiful lake. Enroute explore the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (major tourist attraction) – established to protect wild elephants found wandering in the surrounding forests. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at Giritale.
After breakfast, embark on a road trip to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy your visit to magnificent structures of the bygone era which are also listed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO – Gal Vihara, Council Chamber, Tivanka Pilimage and Rankot Vihara. Return for comfortable overnight stay at your hotel.
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive towards Sigiriya – one of the oldest cities in Sri Lanka and is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which encompasses a series of flights and galleries. This lofty rock fortress, measuring about 180 m in height, has several inscriptions of poems, alternatively called Sigiri graffiti. After an insightful tour of Sigiriya, depart for Dambulla and explore its majestic Golden Temple – an archaeological site that holds great historical significance. Acknowledged as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this cave temple boasts of Buddhist mural paintings and 157 statues, which epitomize the rich heritage of the region. Later, drive to Nuwara Eliya for overnight stay.
Nuwara Eliya is the country’s popular hill resort and Tea estate. After breakfast, enjoy visit to Tea Estate & Tea Factory situated at around 2000m above sea level and surrounded by lush tea plantations, and Horton Plains National Park. Later, proceed to Bentota for overnight stay at your hotel.
Bentota is the city of the Golden Beaches. You will be able to relax and feel the spirit of the sea and the warmth of the soft sand. After breakfast, spend the day swimming in cool waters and relaxing on the beach. Bentota provides the perfect turf for unfurled vacation at the beach. While enjoying the sun, sea and sand, the beach lovers can try their hands at various water sports. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at Bentota.
This morning after breakfast proceed for Excursion to Galle (56 Kms/45 minutes’ drive approx). Visit the Dutch Galle Fort … you may choose to enjoy a boat ride for whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa. You can also go on a glass bottom boat ride to the coral reef, and enjoy scuba diving in Hikkaduwa. Visit the Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda and opt to enjoy a boat ride on Madu River, which is famous for its biodiversity. Also visit the blowhole in Induruwa. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Bentota.
This morning after breakfast proceed to Colombo (65 kms/ 1.5 Hours drive approx.) to board the return flight.
Hotel Check in 1400hrs and check out 1200hrs.
